Life isn't a matter of milestones, but of moments. - Rose Kennedy
I think back on all the moments in life that I did not capture on film... the first smiles, the first steps. They happened in a flash and always when a camera was nowhere in sight. Thanks to digital photography, our life is now well documented and having a camera phone is a large part of preserving precious moments.
It is the silly spontaneous snapshots that I enjoy the most. Whether it is the excitement of catching the largest fish, trying to surf for the first time, or goofy grins showing off a recent lost tooth, it will not be about focus or composition... it will be about capturing the most genuine moments of our life.
Keenemomma captured another childhood rite of passage, her daughter mastering the art of tying shoelaces. A proud moment in every child's life.
I invite you to share some of your special moments with me. The ones you would have missed without your cell phone camera.
Until next time.

Way to kick off camera phone week, Tammy. Love both these shots and how they trigger memories...
That is a sweet moment caught, she's so delicate!
Both of these are wonderful moments and really capture one of the greatest benefits of the camera phone.
you are so right tammy--with mobile photography we don't have to worry about missing those moments. these photos are perfect.
You're absolutely right - sometimes we don't want to carry our big cameras around with us but we don't want to miss a moment either. You've really captured it perfectly.
As there are so few images of me from my childhood, I have been mindful of capturing the sacred everyday moments in my daughter's life. What I struggle with is managing the massive volume of images stored on my computer (and back up drives!) I was so good about regularly printing favorite photos out and making albums; alas the last 2 years have gotten away from me and I sit facing a mammoth pile of images to slough through ... I would love it if someone would address this topic: how not to loose pictures in the glut of image files!
What a treat to see this Tammy Lee! I've just started playing with the camera on my phone and it's been such a delight not to always feel the obligation of lugging around the big camera. And there is something so very liberating in using the Hipstamatic as you just can't be sure what you are going to get. Out with the rules, in with the essence. Thank you for seeing it!
The post inspired me. I posted a few more "moments" on my flickr page. Any particular pool I should put them in?
You can add links here or share them in the Everyday Beauty pool... a perfect spot. xo tam
What great shots - full of joy
Oh my gosh - do I love that smile on your son's face! And the shoes - so cute.
Such great moments. I need to remember to keep my camera ready at all times.
Oh these are such wonderful moments! I LOVE his grin! And I feel myself grinning at the shoes too....
Very fun captured moments!
This si going to be a fun nine days!
How fun! These are truly the best moments to capture. Great smile.
I agree, some of my favorite pictures are now taken with my phone, because I was there and ready, not worrying about settings etc. My extra favorite thing is that Mason has been taking my phone around the house and taking pictures himself... mostly of his feet in different areas of the house, too funny!
Because I don't have young children at home any longer I wasn't as quick to use my iphone. But I certainly would have loved it when my children were young. How great to have that opportunity to catch those fleeting moments.
great post and pairing.
fun in different ways! it seems like both kids are enjoying the moment!
these shots are fantastic, great stories
