many muses musing - PEACE

peace on earth
peace on earth by SightSpecific

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us,
And the world will be as one.
- John Lennon

Finding peace can be a simple as looking at what's in front of you to discover what matters most this holiday season: a happy memory, a loved one's smile, a sense of calm within. My holiday wish for you is to find peace within your heart as you finish out the year and embark on a new journey in 2012.

For today's giveaway, one lucky winner will get a spot in Darrah Parker's Winter session of the Slice of Life Project: Capturing the Everyday in Extraordinary Ways, a photography workshop focusing on digging beneath the surface of your everyday life to unearth the beauty that's been there all along. The workshop begins February 6th. Click on the link above to learn more.

What brings you PEACE? For a chance to win a spot in Darrah's class, link up your images of PEACE from your blog or flickr in the link provided below and/or leave a comment on this post. (max 2 entries per person). I'm looking forward to seeing what you share!

Your creative holiday prompt for tomorrow is: JOY

Sending you love & peace this holiday season and best wishes for the new year,

The other day I asked my son if he knew what was Christmas all about. He answered without thinking: "Peace for everyone, mama"

And so it should be.

Love this prompt.

What brings me peace? Knowing I have done all that I can do, loved all that I can love, and having faith.

This morning I am given peace watching a plane take off into the gorgeous sunrise through the wibbly heat of a nearby chimney.

Fabulous giveaway! Fingers crossed!

Peace is watching my son sleep at night. He looks so peaceful, with not a care in the world! I wish I knew how to reclaim that peace.

Peace for me is when I help someone in need, someone who has been treated badly in school. This High School of mine is one of those with teachers who are bullying their students and kids bullying eachother. Yesterday, I told one of my teachers how angry I was to see her bad behavour towards two of her students, and I was so supprised when she admitted that she had done something wrong. It feels so good when I can help someone - so they know what they are worth, not just someone who people can walk over. That's peace for me.

I've so enjoyed participating and seeing other entries for this series of prompts. It's been nice to focus a little more abstractly on the themes of the holidays. And there are some great prizes to be won along the way - this class is a great example.

I posted one from a few weeks back. I hope that's okay.

I've been thinking about peace all day today and how I wish I could find a way to capture it inside me. This post was a nice reminder of all the ways I can channel peace in my day.

These days . . . peace is sitting in a quiet house, reading a good book instead of focusing on all the negative news.

For me peace is in the simplest of things... a quiet walk on a winter beach, a sleeping dog in my lap, an afternoon nap, or just a few hours on my computer editing photos! Thats all it takes for me and I am at peace!

Peace is found in my family's faces, in my friends whom I have the honor to know. They don't know it, but seeing their warm smiles, brings me such a peace inside.

What a beautiful musing Holly!!
