Over the winter months, I find I am quiet and still, waiting for those first days of Spring to start. Making these origami cranes with Ella captured that feeling of stillness for me -- that quiet solitude.
Gonzomama's picture totally captured that still feeling for me. Her words express how so many of us feel over those winter months, "sometimes it just gets to me, this would be one of those times".

I love both of these, particularly the off-centre composition that they share. And the little origami cranes are lovely! I've always meant to have a go at making some.
Looks like a less is more, oriental day! Very lovely.
love your post and i completely relate. please spring come soon! you're cranes are wonderful! i've never made one, can you believe it? i'll certainly have to learn!
love the colors, and I love origami!
wonderfully creative photo kirstin! great use of white background for a unique shot. love them both.
I love these photos - especially your thoughts behind origami.
Amazing - such great use of negative space
Was just thinking negative space and I see Jamie beat me to it. Agreed. I had a friend who made hundreds of those oragami cranes in all sizes...I think it was his spiritual practice for a time. Would make sense in the stillness. Nicely done.
I really love these both. Gorgeous!
the empty space, the zen-ness of them both...I love it!
Wonderful composition on both photos. xo Tam
