being still

Over the winter months, I find I am quiet and still, waiting for those first days of Spring to start. Making these origami cranes with Ella captured that feeling of stillness for me -- that quiet solitude.

Gonzomama's picture totally captured that still feeling for me. Her words express how so many of us feel over those winter months, "sometimes it just gets to me, this would be one of those times".

I love both of these, particularly the off-centre composition that they share. And the little origami cranes are lovely! I've always meant to have a go at making some.

Amazing - such great use of negative space

Was just thinking negative space and I see Jamie beat me to it. Agreed. I had a friend who made hundreds of those oragami cranes in all sizes...I think it was his spiritual practice for a time. Would make sense in the stillness. Nicely done.
