rough around the edges

To me, dandelions symbolize the start of summer.  Those beautiful weedy flowers blossom and in some cases cover entire fields of grass, bringing color back from a dreary muddy season.  In my search for an end of summer shot, it dawned on me that the dandelions are few and far between this late in the season. I found that this beauty, already half taken by the wind, signified perfectly the end of summer.

This beautiful image by Monica Photography, shares the same consequence.  Beautiful golden petals saying their last goodbye to summer and welcoming the new season.

April :)

Oh April, those are beautiful shots. The dandelion silhouetted against the bokeh is amazing as is the golden light in the other photo. Seeing the flowers wilt and die, nothing left but the seeds, has forced me to acknowledge that even as I try to deny it, summer is over.

Oh these are both gorgeous shots. I love the contrast in the first one. The light in the second one is beautiful.

That dandelion looks so sad. Like it is taking it's last stand against the end of summer. :(

Great photos. ♥
