inner child

Jump Jump RS
I feel a bit like a young girl anticipating the first day of school as I write today: new year, new muses...new themes. Do you remember those days...where all you had to worry about was getting dressed and enjoying life (and it's quite possible you didn't even have to worry about getting dressed - that's what moms are for)? Oh, to be a kid again!

I remember watching my niece with one of her friends a few months ago, trying to jump in the air at the same time. One...Two...Three...JUMP! Each time, one would go flying into the air while the other one seemed to be stuck on the ground...and each time they giggled with girlish delight.

Granted, I'm not suggesting that girls are the only ones capable of having such a good time. Doreen Kilfeather's photo below made me laugh out loud as I imagined "funky Billy Chin and little Sammy Chung" putting on a show for their family and friends. Maybe it's just me, but I think these kids have it all figured out. Angela Schwindt once said, "While we teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about."

With that sentiment in mind...and as we JUMP into the Mortal Muses' second year, I challenge each of us to find our inner child: "Work like you don't need the money; dance like no one is watching; sing like no one is listening; love like you've never been hurt; and live life every day as if it were your last."

Until next time,

Love it! I definitely need to chant that saying to myself every morning (I do already have the dancing like nobody is watching part down, but the rest...). Thanks for a great post!
