when it rains

"The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain," - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I am going to go ahead and add "icing" to that quote :)  This winter has been long, and is still not over (snow on Friday if you live in the northeast!) I am trying to be patient awaiting spring.

All of this crazy weather puts me in a reflective mood.  I am grateful for a warm safe home, with windows and doors to keep us safe from the elements of mother nature.  I am glad that I can witness the astounding power safely behind glass and then when spring/summer finally arrives bask in its warmth.

Spring, you are worth the wait, and I can't wait to see you!

beautiful tones and words! I love those icicles. Reminds me of a photo I took last weekend of some rather large icicles during a snowstorm in Tahoe.

Timely post for me. It's been raining here in Florida for 3 days. And I mean hard rain with tornado warnings and flooded streets. It's nice to see the way others can turn the dreary weather's sadness into beauty. The camera can be a mood changer.

Strange things happen when it rains.
Our iconic palms take on a whole different attitude:

And the rain can make the ordinary seem pretty neat:

No rain at the moment in northern WI, no snow today either, instead sunshine - might spring really be ready to visit? Hoping and dreaming of spring's sweet knock on the door. Great photos and post!
