spirit of inspiration is everywhere.

I draw my inspiration from a lot of things. Like music, fellow flickr peeps, my dogs, but most of all nature.
Inspiration seems to surround me everywhere.

There are deep valleys to go through every once in a while in my creative cycle.  But they don't last long anymore. I am always crushed when I begin to enter a valley.  It seems like I can not create images that please me and satisfy me. I know that I am my biggest critic, that's probably the truth for most of creative people.

And yes, sometimes I want to abandon that dang camera for awhile. But never mind... we all go this route, always. And thanks to all of you out there, I always make it up again on top of the hill. I just love it when that happens.

I chose the picture below by aia*c because it just resembles my love of a gorgeous morning.

Today, I am giving away one "speak the truth. colorful print" by Rachel Awes. They make me smile so big. I hope you like them too. Leave me a comment, follow the blog, and visit the two prior "Inspired" posts and muse pages for more giveaway entries.

_____________

See you in 9 days!
Love, Suki

Nature is also a main inspiration for my photos. Those valleys are tough, but I always feel so proud of myself when I shoot anyway...and keep myself on a roll...whether a good one or bad.

great post. Those ebb and flows of creativity can be very frustrating for me. Sometimes I just tell myself that it's my minds way of telling me that my brain needs a rest to regroup.

Yes, this post speaks to me. I sometimes feel like I lose my creative "mojo" but muse Mosey says that I just lose my "sillies." My sense of humor definitely feeds my creative spirit!

Aia, my friend... congrats on the feature. That photo is breathtaking!!!

Such a lovely post. Aia - may I run away to this spot and just stay there for a while? You've capture this so so very well.

Excellent post, suki, and please don't ever 'abandon that dang camera' Your photography always inspires me. When I am struggling to find my creativity behind the lens, I take a walk in my favorite park, and remind myself to look for the light, and try to capture it the way suki does. Thank you for always inspiring me to see differently.

Other than my family, nature is my main muse as well. I find that sites like this and Picture Fall, and Shutter Sisters, and an occaisional class help me continue picking up the camera daily...then again sometimes I just need a rest.

Love the film shot by aia*c...gotta get out my Pentax again!

oh wow thank you suki for the feature :) and thank you for all the love ladies!

your post spoke to me, as i often get stuck in a creative rut. it happens to all of us, whether we are a painter, writer or a musician. but the most important part is that we keep looking for inspiration and the love will always be there.

suki, my friend, don't ever lose that love. you are a great inspiration to all of us out here.

Hills and valleys - yes. This is a concept so familiar to me and you describe it so well. Beautiful photos and Aia's reminds me of a dream I barely remember having...

I think it's wonderful that you have made such a place for creativity in your life, that you'd notice the valleys of your creative cycle. So many people have no outlet, maybe don't even consider it but instead stay bottled up.

And yeah, I enjoy your photostream too!

Wonderful post! I've feel like I've been in the valley for weeks now, but slowly feel myself coming out!

Nature is so inspiring. So are your photos. I have a wimpy camera and couldn't seem to capture the beauty that is surrounding me in the autumn here. But when I posted those pictures others saw it.
Love the print and I would give it a great home.
I follow you, of course.

I feel the same way. Some days I'm inspired, some days I need to look for it, and some days I've lost it. Beautiful Photos.

well put. it helps to know that we are all in the same boat...some days searching for inspiration...

Beautiful picture--inspirational and light-filled. As others have said, I was relieved to see those "less inspired" times are universal. And they pass.

Lovely images!
I know what you mean when you say that your inspiration ebbs and flows - when that begins to happen to me, I try not to fight it. I figure it is an opportunity to stop and reflect on the direction of my photography. I usually end up trying something completely different with my camera and lens and lighting. Sometimes it works and I incorporate it, sometimes it doesn't. But in either case, I usually find my "muse" again.

Mother nature is my muse,too!
I love these two images...they are both so full of grace.

April said...

I loose my creative energy too sometimes but taking out my camera and searching for new things usually helps.
