morning dew

the evening fog lifts
dewdrops left behind sparkle
in the morning light

morning dew - a haiku by tammy lee bradley

This morning, as I gently swung in my hammock with my iced coffee in hand, I started thinking about our morning prompt. I could visualize a truly stunning dewy grass shot. One with perfect dew droplets, sparkly background bokeh, and streaming morning sunlight like the one shown below by MarcipanCat.

Inspired, I grabbed my camera and settled into the wet grass in my pajamas. With just the right angle and my camera pointed at the perfect blade of grass, I focused and got a … wet snout.

No matter what I tried Roxy, a typical Jack Russell, could not be persuaded to stop licking up my perfect dew droplets. So I figured… why fight it? And who can resist doggy sunspots and a lovely flare rainbow?

There really is nothing like the warmth of the morning sun and a sweet pup to lift one’s spirits. What little things make your mornings extra special?

Stay sweet. ♥ tlb

I like the haiku, Tammy. Roxy looks, and sounds, like a precocious pup. I love her highlighted fur in your photo. MarcipanCat is a master at capturing bokeh.

You asked about mornings and what makes them special. I am not a morning person. What makes the a.m. hours bearable is coffee. A big hug from four-year-old Jack and Baby Stella's head on my shoulder help too.

I love that you went with the reality of your morning, and while a solitary morning is beautiful, it is doubly beautiful when share with the exuberance of a loved one.

I can visualize you crawling around in your pajamas, completely soaked but with a huge smile. The spirit of a true photographer. Love it!

Love the look of the picnic table - looks like a textured collage background. Spent the morning and afternoon with my dd in an art class. We had a great time.

i love both photos. we decided to wake up early today and take lots of morning shot. a photowalk with my husband was definitely worth getting up at 8am, on a Saturday. i feel so behind on everything =( i couldn't believe that the morning theme has passed by so quick!
