A box of chocolates -- it's not all about looking like other people. Celebrate yourself, however you are, however you look. I am overweight by any definition of the term and yet I try to do self-portraits (I recently wrote a post about this: http://superdewaphotography.blogspot.com/2011/05/international-no-diet-day.html). If only the "beautiful people" do self-portraits, than we will think only they can. We give credence to the idea that only "beautiful people" deserve to be seen. We all need to celebrate ourselves.

first of all, thank you for choosing my photo! :) and second - i agree with SuperDewa. i don't feel that i'm beautiful, i'm just an ordinary girl... and i rather be behind the camera, but once in a while i get the guts to do a selfie, and sometimes it comes out pretty well :) my advice - do it outside, in the sun. the sun is good for you!

So happy to be a part of this group of strong, wonderful, beautiful, inspiring women. I looked through the pool. Wow. Wow. Wow.

I also had fun browsing Ramblings and Photos. The jumping shots were hilarious. You go girl! I've tried them. Everybody should try jumping shots.

And I've loved Urban Muser's restaurant bathroom series so much, I ripped off her idea in my own but much more low-brow bathroom mirror series. This is good, confidence-building stuff that surprisingly makes you see much more of what's inside than what's outside.

Can't wait to see your sense of humor, your drama, your happiness, your ugly scar, your pregnant belly, your big heart, your bad mood---all of it!
